eNPS - an online portal for registration and contribution under NPS

This is to inform to all Government employees that eNPS - an online portal for registration and contribution under NPS- has now been made available on the NPS Trust website (www.npstrust.org.in) under Tab “NPS Online” on the Home page. Using the facilities available in the eNPS portal, a Subscriber can register under NPS, generate a Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN) under All Citizens of India sector and contribute to his/her Permanent Retirement Account. Further, the Subscribers already registered under NPS and having active PRAN can make contributions through eNPS in their Tier I as well as Tier II  NPS accounts.
 
Advantages/Benefits of eNPS:
 
eNPS is a functionality for online enrollment and contribution processing. A Subscriber can register under NPS using this facility from anywhere and a PRAN will be allotted immediately.
 
The various advantages/benefits of eNPS are as under:
  1. 24 X 7 X 365 Accessibility from anywhere: Subscriber can register under NPS from a convenient place and is not required to visit to the POP office for NPS enrollment or contribution.

Nomination Status of Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination, 2013

Staff Selection Commission Northern Region has given Nomination Status of Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination, 2013.
The SSC conducted the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Exam 2013 on 20 and 27 October 2013, and 10 November 2013 for recruitment to the post of Data Entry Operators and Lower Division Clerks. Total 22, 24,981 candidates appeared in Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination, 2013.
Out of 2244981 total 14374 candidates qualified provisionally for typing test of LDC, and 9960 candidates for skill test for Data Entry Operator in the examination. All the qualified candidates were called by the SSC for Typing Test/ Data Entry Test.

Applicability (i) The CTET shall apply to schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools, etc.) and schools under the administrative control of UT’s of Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and NCT of Delhi. 

(ii) CTET may also apply to the unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of considering the CTET. 

(iii) Schools owned and managed by the State Government/local bodies and aided schools shall consider the TET conducted by the State Government. However, a State Government can also consider the CTET if it decides not to conduct the State TET.

 (iv) According to CBSE Affiliation Bye-Law 53, prescribing the minimum qualifications for teachers to teach various subjects in Classes I to VIII in the schools Affiliated to CBSE stands amended to that extent and it shall be mandatory that the teachers appointed hereinafter i.e. 6th March 2012 to teach classes I to VIII in the Schools affiliated to the CBSE shall qualify/pass the Central Teacher Eligibility Test or Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), conducted by the appropriate Central/ State Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE for this purpose.

Other Allowances include, Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance and Transport Allowance Yearly Increase in salary is calculated as Basic Pay increase by 3% and corresponding increase in Dearness Allowance as per orders issued by the Government of India. For outstanding candidates, the selection committee may recommend up to 5 additional increments at selection.

SELECTION PROCEDURE FOR SCIENTISTS

Level 1 Screening
An Institutional Screening Committee (ISC) will be determine whether the applicant meets minimum prescribed qualifications for the advertised scientist position at RGCB. Ineligible applicants without these needed minimum qualifications will be rejected and no further correspondence will be sent to them. Applications shortlisted after the Level I screening by the ISC will be sent for Level 2 screening.
A Faculty Screening Committee (FSC) will analyze the applications forwarded to it by the ISC after Level 1 screening. Level 2 screening includes detailed review of the applicant's credentials, publications, achievements, etc. Applicants may also be invited to give a seminar at RGCB. The FSC will decide in which grade the applicant can be considered and forward such recommendations to the Scientist Selection Committee (SSC). The Chairman of the Faculty Screening Committee will be a member of the SSC.

Final Selection Procedures
The SSC will or its individual members will speak to applicants personally, go over their plans and ideas with them and understand their long-term career goals. They will also assess the applicant's value to the development of RGCB and its R&D programs. The selection committee will also hold direct discussions with the shortlisted applicants either in person or through video conferencing. The SSC will take the final decision on whether to advice the institute to make an offer to the applicant and if so which grade of scientist is to be offered. The institute will then make a final administrative decision on this.
GENERAL CONDITIONS/ INSTRUCTIONS
o    The Director, RGCB reserves right to not to fill any or all positions advertised.
o    The candidates must be citizens of India.
o    Merely fulfilling the requirements in the advertisement will not automatically entitle any candidate to be considered for the position. The applications received will be scrutinized and candidates who in the opinion of hte institute are likely to be suitable will be shortlisted for further selection procedures. The Screening and Selection Committees will make appropriate decision on total and individual impact factors in relation to the overall application, research areas and needs of the institute. The decision of the institute in all these matters will be final. No interim enquiries/ correspondence/communication of any sort will be entertained in the matter.
o    Persons working under the Central/State Government/Public Sector Undertakings/ Central Autonomous Bodies shall submit their applications through proper channel. They may, however, send an advance copy of the application along with enclosures as required. Those who are unable to forward their application through proper channel may submit NOC from their employer at the time of selection interview, if shortlisted. Without this NOC, the applicant will not be allowed to attend the selection procedures.
o    Canvassing in any manner would entail disqualification of the candidature.
