                The engagement as a Research Associate/Project Assistant/JRF (Project) in the projects is purely on temporary basis maximum for the period of duration of the project.  However, appointment will initially be offered for a period of one year and will be extended yearly basis till the duration of the project depending on the satisfactory performance of the incumbent.  The appointment can be terminated by either side by giving one month’s notice.  Total duration of project fellowship/assistantship in CSIR Laboratories is maximum of 5 years.  Therefore, if an incumbent switches between the projects, the appointment will terminate on the day he/she completes 05 years as a Project Fellow.  Please note that it is not an IMTECH/CSIR appointment and will not confer any right of the incumbent to any claim implicit or explicit on any position.   Number of positions may vary.

The question paper will have 120 objective type multiple choice questions which include Part –I (40 questions in general ability, aptitude and analytical skills) and Part –II (80 questions in subject specialization). Each correct answer carries one mark and a wrong answer carry negative 1/4 mark. The test will be for 2hrs duration qualifying marks for the Test is 40% and 30% for SC/ST candidates.

Based on the recommendation with justification by the PI and approval of the Director, person getting stipend at lower rate may be elevated to higher rate subject to availability of the funds in the project. 
8. Recruitment will be based on initial screening based on qualifications and experience criteria and also based on suitability of the candidates to the nature of research project. This screening will be followed by written test followed / interview. After completing this process, candidates will be shortlisted and appointed in specific project subjects as and when appropriate positions become available. The pool of selected candidates will be valid for six months. 
9. Remunerations indicate are maximum admissible and will depend upon the availability of funds and subject to conditions applicable to projects from different funding agencies at the time of recruitment.
